Roosevelt's award winning Culinary Arts program was established in 2013 with the installation of a modern, state of the art kitchen lab. Students are prepared to go directly into the fast-paced, competitive restaurant industry or are prepared to excel in other post secondary culinary options. Students in the program learn about nutrition, cooking techniques, seasonings and flavorings, safety and sanitation principles, how to prepare for and apply for a job, interviewing skills, and career opportunities. Students also learn about communication in the workplace, management, and entrepreneurship. Roosevelt culinary students participate in state and national scholarship competitions and graduate with several industry certifications.
